On the Beach

Friends sit at a beach front cafe, chatting to each other.
The disaster has not hit them yet.
One has just noticed what is coming.
A tsunami. A boom. An end.
When I sat with Michael and chatted about this piece he shared……
“I exhibited this at the Art Society of Orange.”
What were their thoughts? I asked him
Michael says “It got very little response.”
Why do you think that was? I ask him.
“They couldn't get it.” Michael responds!
“Do you think something like this is going to happen? A tsunami like this?” I ask.
“Yes, among some people, it will. That is the reality.”
In 2006 Michael & Louisa created the Carbon Farmers of Australia, when they could see what ‘tsunami’ was coming in the form of climate change, and the role that farmers and carbon farming could make. They have tirelessly worked as pioneers in this area, and when Michael was no longer able to work anymore, Louisa took the vision forward.
Are we too late? Will we suffer the same fate?
Where are you ignoring an oncoming tsunami?
