Putting Yourself Out There at 70 Years Old

Michael (my dad!) took up a paintbrush only 5 years ago after he received a cancer diagnosis giving him possibly 3 months to live.

In his confusion, frustration and the ‘what does this all mean’ moments he found himself being drawn to the canvas.

Now with his debut exhibition being launched this year he often shares with me that it is scary thinking about putting himself out there as an artist. However, his desire to promote the power of abstract art, to just create, and to leave a legacy for his grandchildren is greater and he says to me “Let’s do it!”. And so, we do.

As he says “I’ve got nothing to lose.”

I look forward to sharing his art with the world.

See you there
